Assembly Bill No. 445
CHAPTER 149

An act to amend Section 4657 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, relating to developmental services.

[ Approved by Governor  August 31, 2021. Filed with Secretary of State  August 31, 2021. ]

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 445, Calderon. Developmental services: information collection.
Existing law, the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, requires the State Department of Developmental Services to contract with regional centers to provide services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Existing law requires the department, through those contracts, to ensure that specified information, including, among other things, the social security number of the parents of the consumer, is collected by each regional center for each new case and is also collected at each review of all regional center clients in out-of-home placement.
This bill would remove the requirement for the department to ensure that the social security number of the parents of the consumer is collected by regional centers.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: YES   Local Program: NO
