AB 1405, as introduced, Wicks.
Consumers Legal Remedies Act.
Under existing law, the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, specified unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices undertaken by any person in a transaction intended to result or that result in the sale or lease of goods or services to any consumer are unlawful. Existing law authorizes a consumer who suffers any damage as a result of the use or employment by any person of these methods, acts, or practices to bring an action to recover or obtain specified remedies.
