Existing law, until January 1, 2018, establishes the Job Development Incentive Training Program as a component of the California Community Colleges Economic and Workforce Development Program. Existing law states the intent of the Legislature that the Job Development Incentive Training Program provide training on a no-cost or low-cost basis to participating employers who create employment opportunities at an acceptable wage level for the attainment of self-sufficiency by specified aid recipients and low wage earners. Existing law requires a community college that participates in the Job Development Incentive Training Program to inventory its local or regional business community, including nonprofit organizations, and identify industry-driven needs and employment opportunities with a goal of attaining self-sufficiency through workforce reentry, continuous employee training, and skills
upgrades. requires the State Department of Social Services, in consultation and collaboration with others, as specified, to develop a training curriculum for in-home support services providers that addresses issues of consistency, accountability, and increased quality of care for in-home supportive services recipients.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to the latter provision. require the State Department of Social Services and State Department of Public Health, in consultation and collaboration with others, as specified, to develop a training curriculum for health and home care workers that addresses the above-mentioned issues for health and home care recipients.
