ACR 69, Nakanishi. Relative to the San Jose State University Processed Food Institute.
This measure would memorialize the Department of Food and Agriculture and the State Department of Health Services to, whenever possible, support and collaborate with the San Jose State University Processed Food Institute.

WHEREAS, The Processed Food Institute has been established at San Jose State University; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the San Jose State University Processed Food Institute is to create a strategic alliance between the university, the food industry, and local, state, and federal governments to enhance the marketability of products produced in California through the national and overseas markets; and
WHEREAS, The San Jose State University Processed Food Institute strives to act as a bridge between the food industry, government, and university researchers by providing trade and technical services to United States food processors, focusing on small and medium sized firms; and
WHEREAS, The San Jose State University Processed Food Institute has focused its activities on fee-based technical assistance, industry, trade, and policy analysis, and education and training; and now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Assembly of the State of California, the Senate thereof concurring, That the Department of Food and Agriculture and the State Department of Health Services are hereby urged to, whenever possible, support and collaborate with the San Jose State University Processed Food Institute; and be it further
Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly transmit copies of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
