An act relating to transportation, and making an appropriation therefor.

SB 1456, as amended, Knight. Transportation: funding.
Existing law requires the California Transportation Commission and the Department of Transportation to prepare 5-year fund estimates of all transportation funds that are available to the state and requires those funds to be programmed and allocated in accordance with certain formulas.
This bill would appropriate $____ $187,300,000 from the General Fund to the department for allocation of $____ $80,000,000 to widen State Highway Route 138 from 2 to 4 lanes between Avenue T and 165th Street State Highway Route 18 in the County of Los Angeles and of $____ $107,300,000 to realign State Highway Route 58 for safety purposes at the Boron “S” curve near the City of Boron.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 (a) The sum of ____ dollars ($____) one hundred eighty-seven million three hundred thousand dollars ($187,300,000) is hereby appropriated from the General Fund to be allocated by the Department of Transportation for completion of the following projects:
(1) ____ dollars ($____) Eighty million dollars ($80,000,000) to widen State Highway Route 138 from two to four lanes between Avenue T and 165th Street State Highway Route 18 in the County of Los Angeles.
(2) ____ dollars ($____) One hundred seven million three hundred thousand dollars ($107,300,000) to realign State Highway Route 58 for safety purposes at the Boron “S” curve near the City of Boron.
(b) The amounts appropriated under this section are in addition to any funds already programmed for completion of these projects.
