Relative to the Joint Sunset Review Committee.

WHEREAS, The Joint Sunset Review Committee was created to identify and eliminate waste, duplication, and inefficiency in government agencies; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of the committee is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of every eligible agency to determine if the agency is still necessary and cost effective; and
WHEREAS, The committee is required to be composed of 10 members of the Legislature; and
WHEREAS, The Senate Committee on Rules is required to appoint five members of the Senate to the committee, not more than three of whom are members of the same political party; and
WHEREAS, Members are required to be appointed within 15 days after the commencement of the regular session; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate of the State of California, That the Senate Committee on Rules shall make the required appointments to the Joint Sunset Review Committee; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit copies of this resolution to the author for distribution.
