An act to add Section 12096.3.4 to the Government Code, relating to climate change.

Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development: Climate change.
Existing law establishes the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, known as “GO-Biz,” within the Governor’s office to serve the Governor as the lead entity for economic strategy and the marketing of California on issues relating to business development, private sector investment, and economic growth.
This bill would require GO-Biz to develop economic forecasts. The bill would require the economic forecasts to include climate impacts.
Existing law establishes the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program under the administration of the Office of Planning and Research to coordinate regional and local efforts with state climate adaptation strategies to adapt to the impacts of climate change, as specified.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation related to climate change.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 12096.3.4 is added to the Government Code, to read:12096.3.4.
The office shall develop economic forecasts. The economic forecasts shall include climate impacts.SECTION 1.It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation related to climate change.
