AB 747, as introduced, Mathis.
Water treatment facility: State Water Resources Control Board: grant.
Under existing law, various measures provide funds for water facilities and programs. Existing law authorizes the State Water Resources Control Board to establish the Water and Wastewater Loan and Grant Program, to the extent funding is made available, to provide funding to eligible applicants for specified purposes relating to drinking water and wastewater treatment.
This bill would appropriate $20,000,000 from the General Fund to the board for the purpose of improving water treatment. The bill would require the board to grant $20,000,000 to a specified joint powers authority for a water treatment facility to be operated by the joint powers authority.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
(a) Twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) is hereby appropriated from the General Fund to the State Water Resources Control Board for the purpose of improving water treatment.(b) The State Water Resources Control Board shall provide a grant of twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) to a joint powers authority composed of the Tule River Indian Tribe and the City of Porterville for a water treatment facility to be operated by the joint powers authority.
