CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2013–2014 REGULAR SESSION

Assembly Bill
No. 144

Introduced by Assembly Member Wilk

January 18, 2013

An act to amend Section 51870 of the Education Code, relating to education.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 144, as introduced, Wilk. Education: authorized classes and courses of instruction: technology.
Existing law requires the State Department of Education to administer the California Technology Assistance Project to provide a regionalized network of technical assistance to schools and school districts on the implementation of education technology as set forth in the policies of the State Board of Education. Existing law, for purposes of the above provisions, defines “technology” to mean technology-based materials, equipment, systems, and networks.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change in that definition.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 51870 of the Education Code is amended to read:

51870.
For the purposes of this article, “technology” means is defined to mean technology-based materials, equipment, systems, and networks.
