(a) No later than January 1, 2015, the State Department of Social Services and the State Department of Public Health, in consultation with the State Department of Health Care Services, and in collaboration with stakeholders including, but not limited to, recognized employee representatives, shall develop a training curriculum for health and home care workers that shall address issues of consistency, accountability, and increased quality of care for health and home care recipients.(b) Participation in the training developed pursuant to subdivision (a) shall be voluntary.
(c) This section shall not be construed to preclude a managed care health plan, as part of the care coordination team, from developing recipient-specific voluntary training curriculum for a health or home care worker who has been integrated into a beneficiary’s care coordination team.
