| To the Members of the California State Assembly: I am returning Assembly Bill 1909 without my signature. This bill would require the Department of Social Services to translate all written documents and materials for providers in the in-home supportive services (IHHS) program. Materials in this program are translated by counties with the assistance of the department. I believe current arrangements are working reasonably well and should be continued. Sincerely, Edmund G.
