Employment discrimination.
Existing law, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, identifies certain acts as unlawful employment practices, including for an employer, because of the race, religious creed, color, or specified other characteristics of the person, to refuse to hire or employ the person, discharge the person from employment, or discriminate against the person in compensation or in terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, except as otherwise specified.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would protect workers from discrimination in the workplace.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would protect workers from discrimination in the workplace.
