An act relating to the Political Reform Act of 1974. to amend Section 7216 of the Elections Code, relating to elections.

AB 2559, as amended, Ting. Political Reform Act of 1974. Elections: Democratic Party county central committee.
Existing law provides for the election of members of county central committees. Under existing law, whenever a person is appointed to fill a vacancy on a committee, the chairperson of the committee is required to file notices of the appointment, as specified. Existing law requires the notices to contain specified information, including, among others, the name and address of the person appointed.
This bill would additionally require the notices to include the phone number of the person appointed.

The Political Reform Act of 1974 provides for the comprehensive regulation of political campaigns, lobbying, and other matters relating to governmental ethics and elections.

This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to amend the act.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 7216 of the Elections Code is amended to read:

7216.
 Whenever any a person is appointed to fill a vacancy on a committee, the chairperson of the committee shall file notices of the appointment with the elections official and the chairperson of the state central committee within 30 days after it is made. The notices shall contain the name name, phone number, and address of the person appointed and the name of the person replaced, and shall indicate the date of the appointment.

SECTION 1.

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to amend the Political Reform Act of 1974.
