SECTION 1.
(a) (1) (A) Notwithstanding Section 2 of Chapter 355 of the Statutes of 2015, the Director of General Services, with approval of the Adjutant General, shall grant to the City of Santa Barbara or the Santa Barbara Unified School District an option to purchase the Santa Barbara Armory. The option shall expire on July 1, 2017.(B) For the purposes of this act, the Santa Barbara Armory means approximately 4.7 acres of real property (APN: 031-041-001) with an approximately 27,000 square foot armory building and ancillary improvements made thereon, located at 700 East Canon Perdido Street, Santa Barbara, California, known as the Santa Barbara Armory.
(2) (A) Notwithstanding Section 2 of Chapter 355 of the Statutes of 2015, the Director of General Services, with approval of the Adjutant General, shall grant to the City of Brawley or the Brawley Union High School District an option to purchase the Brawley Armory. The option shall expire on July 1, 2017.
(B) For the purposes of this act, the Brawley Armory means approximately 1.78 acres of real property with improvements made thereon, located at 650 North Second Street, Brawley, California, known as the Brawley Armory.
(3) (A) Notwithstanding Section 2 of Chapter 355 of the Statutes of 2015, the Director of General Services, with approval of the Adjutant General, shall grant to the City of Indio an option to purchase the Indio Armory. The option shall expire on July 1, 2017.
(B) For the purposes of this act, the Indio Armory means approximately 2.31 acres of real property with improvements
made thereon, located at 43143 North Jackson Street, Indio, California, known as the Indio Armory.
(4) (A) Notwithstanding Section 2 of Chapter 355 of the Statutes of 2015, the Director of General Services, with approval of the Adjutant General, shall grant to the City of Lynwood an option to purchase the Lynwood Armory. The option shall expire on July 1, 2017.
(B) For the purposes of this act, the Lynwood Armory means approximately 1.03 acres of real property with improvements made thereon, located at 11398 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, known as the Lynwood Armory.
(5) (A) Notwithstanding Section 2 of Chapter 355 of the Statutes of 2015, the Director of General Services, with approval of the Adjutant General, shall grant to the City of Pomona an option to purchase the Pomona Park Armory. In the event that the City of Pomona does not act on that option, then the Director of General Services, with approval of the Adjutant General, shall grant to the County of Los Angeles an option to purchase the Pomona Park Armory. The option shall expire on July 1, 2017.
(B) For the purposes of this act, the Pomona Park Armory means approximately 0.635 acres of real property with improvements made thereon, located at 600 South Park Avenue, Pomona, California, known as the Pomona Park Armory.
(b) If
an option granted pursuant to subdivision (a) to purchase an armory expires, that armory shall be offered for sale
pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 of Chapter 355 of the Statutes of 2015.
(c) The sale of each armory pursuant to subdivision (a) shall be conducted pursuant to Section 435 of the Military and Veterans Code.
(d) Any purchase agreement pursuant to subdivision (a) shall include terms and conditions determined by the Director of General Services to be in the best interest of the state based on the fair market value of the armory, based on the zoning as it existed on March 1, 2016, as determined by an appraisal undertaken and approved by the Director of General Services.
