The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 1302 of the Streets and Highways Code is amended to read:
1302.
Nothing in this chapter shall limit or affect the acquisition or construction by the department of bridges upon State state highways or of bridges over navigable streams, swamps, navigable estuaries, ponds, or arms of bay.
