AB 2573, as introduced, Walters. Medi-Cal.
Existing law establishes the Medi-Cal program, administered by the State Department of Health Care Services, under which health care services are provided to low-income person. Existing law authorizes the department to recover from any settlement amount the reasonable value of those benefits received by an injured beneficiary who has received benefits under the Medi-Cal program.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation regarding the claims of the department for reimbursement for the reasonable value of Medi-Cal benefits in those circumstances.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation regarding the claims of the department for reimbursement for the reasonable value of Medi-Cal benefits from any settlement of an injured beneficiary of Medi-Cal benefits.
