An act to add Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 99170) to Part 65 of Division 14 of Title 3 of the Education Code, relating to public postsecondary education.

AB 2458, as introduced, Walters. Public postsecondary education: graduation rates.
Existing law establishes the various segments of the higher education system in the state. These segments include the University of California, which is administered by the Regents of the University of California, the California State University, which is administered by the Trustees of the California State University, and the California Community Colleges, which is administered by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, which together comprise the public postsecondary education system.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that provides a financial reward to a student who graduates early from a public postsecondary education institution that is shared with the institution.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 99170) is added to Part 65 of Division 14 of Title 3 of the Education Code, to read:

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that provides a financial reward to a student who graduates early from a public postsecondary education institution that is shared with the institution.
