Existing law requires that, in each county containing more than 20 or more Assembly districts, a county Republican central committee consists of 7 members elected from each Assembly district contained either wholly or partially within the county. It also requires that in an Assembly district that lies only partially within a county containing 20 or more Assembly districts, the 7 members are elected from that portion of the Assembly district contained within the county.
This bill would declare the Legislature’s intent to enact legislation to change the process by which members of the Los Angeles County Republican Central Committee are elected.
