Relative to victims of violent crime.

SCR 64, Deddeh. Victims of crime.
This measure would proclaim April 15, 1992, as “Violent Crime Victims’ Memorial Day,” and would encourage the citizens of California to observe this memorial day for the slain and disabled victims of violent crime with appropriate prayers and ceremonies.

WHEREAS, Many thousands of law-abiding Californians have been slain or disabled by criminal violence perpetrated by public enemy criminals since California entered the United States of America on September 9, 1850; and
WHEREAS, Many of the victims of violent crimes have been respectable, law-abiding men, women, children, and senior citizens; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate of the State of California, the Assembly thereof concurring, That the California Legislature does hereby support all victims of violent crimes by proclaiming April 15, 1992, as “Violent Crime Victims’ Memorial Day,” and by encouraging the citizens of California to observe this memorial day for the slain and disabled victims of violent crime with appropriate prayers and ceremonies; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor.
