ACR 148, as amended, Butler. California family planning funding and support.
This measure would resolve that the Legislature is committed to supporting access to family planning services, and would urge the preservation of funding to ensure that California will stand with women and allow them to enjoy improved health and experience fewer unplanned pregnancies and births.
Fiscal Committee: NO  

WHEREAS, Family planning services are essential to providing basic health care and family planning to millions of women, including well-woman examinations, lifesaving cancer screenings, and contraceptive services; and
WHEREAS, Due to the threat of cuts in federal funding, access to preventative health care for millions of women is could be at risk; and
WHEREAS, The volatility of federal funding for family planning services is a matter of statewide concern; and
WHEREAS, Financial support for the basic health care for women should not be contingent on funding from the federal government; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Assembly of the State of California, the Senate thereof concurring, That the Legislature is committed to supporting access to family planning services, and strongly urges the preservation of funding to ensure that California will stand with women and allow them to enjoy improved health and experience fewer unplanned pregnancies and births; and be it further
Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly transmit copies of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
