SB 979, as amended, Maldonado. California State University: California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Existing law establishes the California State University, under the administration of the Trustees of the California State University, as one of the segments of public postsecondary education in this state. The California State University includes 25 institutions, including the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
This bill would require a pilot program relating to the teaching of career technical education, engineering, mathematics, and science to be established in the Agricultural Education and Communication Department of the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. The bill would authorize the trustees to receive funds donated, for the purposes of the pilot program, from any nonstate source, and deposit the donated funds into the California State University Trust Fund. The bill would continuously appropriate these funds to the trustees for the purposes of the pilot program.
