An act to amend Section 92 of the Penal Code, relating to crimes.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


SB 731, as introduced, Durazo. Crimes: bribery.
Existing law prohibits a person from offering a bribe, as specified, to certain persons, with the intent to influence their decision on specified matters. A violation of this provision is punishable as a felony.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 92 of the Penal Code is amended to read:

92.
 Every person who gives or offers to give a bribe to any judicial officer, juror, referee, arbitrator, or umpire, or to any person who may be authorized by law to hear or determine any question or controversy, with intent to influence his their vote, opinion, or decision upon any matter or question which is or may be brought before him them for decision, is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three or four years.
