An act relating to elections.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


SB 714, as introduced, Caballero. Democratic Party: county central committee elections.
Existing law provides procedures for the election or appointment of members of county central committees of the Democratic Party. Existing law provides that a person is not eligible for appointment or election to a committee if the person is not registered as affiliated with the party at the time of the appointment or election.
This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would amend this provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would amend Section 7209 of the Elections Code, regarding the eligibility of a person for appointment or election to a county central committee of the Democratic Party.
