CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2021–2022 REGULAR SESSION

Senate Bill
No. 645

February 19, 2021

An act to amend Section 50 of the Civil Code, relating to force.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 645, as introduced, Melendez. Personal rights: necessary force.
Existing law provides that necessary force may be used to protect from wrongful injury the person or property of oneself, or of a spouse, child, parent, or other relative or member of one’s family, or of a ward, servant, master, or guest.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to that provision.
