SB 481, as introduced, Durazo.
Prisons: parole.
Existing law punishes specified criminal offenses with an indeterminate life sentence in which the offender is sentenced to imprisonment for life, but with eligibility for parole after a specified term and with the approval of the Board of Parole Hearings, as specified.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to provide for the early parole of inmates, including those serving indeterminate life sentences.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to provide for the early parole of inmates serving indeterminate sentences.
