University of California: employment relations.
The California Constitution establishes the University of California as a public trust under the administration of the Regents of the University of California. The Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act provides for negotiations concerning wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment between a higher education employer, defined to include the Regents of the University of California, and representatives of recognized employee organizations.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would ensure that unionized employees at the university may remain represented by their union when the regents changes the composition of the University of California, Academic Senate.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would ensure that unionized employees at the University of California may remain represented by their union when the Regents of the University of California changes the composition of the University of California, Academic Senate.
