An act to amend Section 4000 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, relating to mental health.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


SB 967, as introduced, Berryhill. State Department of State Hospitals.
Existing law establishes the State Department of State Hospitals within the California Health and Human Services Agency. Existing law provides the department with jurisdiction over the execution of laws relating to care and treatment of persons with mental health disorders under the custody of the department.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 4000 of the Welfare and Institutions Code is amended to read:

4000.
 There is in the California Health and Human Services Agency a the State Department of State Hospitals.
