An act to amend Section 11166.05 of the Penal Code, relating to child abuse.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 2325, as introduced, Corbett. Child abuse.
Existing law requires persons who are mandated reporters, such as teachers, peace officers, and health care personnel, to report instances of suspected child abuse or neglect. Existing law authorizes those persons to make that report if they suspect that a child’s emotional well-being is endangered.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 11166.05 of the Penal Code is amended to read:

11166.05.
 Any mandated reporter who has knowledge of or who reasonably suspects that mental suffering has been inflicted upon a child or that his or her the child’s emotional well-being is endangered in any other way may report the known or suspected instance of child abuse or neglect to an agency specified in Section 11165.9.
