Governor's Message
To the Members of the California State Assembly:

I am returning Assembly Bill 2547 without my signature.

This bill requires the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to collect specified data to evaluate the Teacher Residency Grant Program and Local Solutions Grant Program and determine each program's effectiveness at recruiting and trainng teachers.

The Commission is already required to conduct an evaluation of both programs and provide a report to the state Legislature and Department of Finance by December 1, 2023. I am confident that successful practices will be shared within the education community.

Sincerely,

Edmund G. Brown Jr.
