To the Members of the California State Assembly: I am returning Assembly Bill 1279 without my signature. This bill requires the Department of Public Health to develop outreach programs to educate the public about Valley Fever. The department already provides fact sheets, brochures, posters and other educational materials to raise awareness of this disease. Expanding this program would necessitate additional resources which should be considered along with other funding requests as part of the budget process. Sincerely, Edmund G. Brown Jr. |
