LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


HR 79, as introduced, Essayli.

WHEREAS, CrossFit, a fitness and wellness program that promotes functional fitness, health, and community engagement, was started in California and has become increasingly popular across the state; and
WHEREAS, CrossFit has made a substantial contribution to the overall well-being of California residents by fostering physical fitness, mental resilience, and community cohesion; and
WHEREAS, CrossFit is a versatile and inclusive fitness regimen, accessible to individuals of all ages and fitness levels, thereby supporting diverse segments of the population; and
WHEREAS, CrossFit affiliates and trainers have played a vital role in promoting health and fitness by offering guidance and support to help California residents achieve defined measurable fitness goals; and
WHEREAS, CrossFit’s emphasis on nutrition, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle choices aligns with public health initiatives aimed at reducing chronic diseases and promoting overall well-being; and
WHEREAS, CrossFit’s community-based approach has not only improved physical health but also provided a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and social support to many participants in California; and
WHEREAS, CrossFit has contributed to economic growth by establishing local affiliates and small businesses, providing employment opportunities, and contributing to the state’s economy; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Assembly of the State of California, That the Assembly hereby recognizes March 6, 2024, as CrossFit Appreciation Day; and be it further
Resolved, That the Assembly recognizes and commends the positive impact of CrossFit on the well-being of California’s population; and be it further
Resolved, That the Assembly encourages individuals, communities, and public health agencies to embrace fitness and wellness programs like CrossFit as a means to enhance the health and quality of life of California residents; and be it further
Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly prepare and transmit a copy of the resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
