An act to add Section 13218.5 to the Elections Code, relating to elections.

AB 1495, as introduced, Berman.
Elections: ballot design.
Existing law imposes specifications for the layout and design of ballots to be used in elections. Existing law requires the Secretary of State to establish a ballot design advisory committee to assist the Secretary of State in promulgating regulations that prescribe ballot design and format.
This bill would require the Secretary of State to post the California best practices and standards for ballot design on the Secretary of State’s internet website.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 13218.5 is added to the Elections Code, to read:13218.5.
The Secretary of State shall post the California best practices and standards for ballot design on the Secretary of State’s internet website.
