An act relating to housing.

AB 2755, as introduced, Levine.
Housing: teachers and local agency employees.
Existing law establishes the Teacher Housing Act of 2016, the purpose of which is to facilitate the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, and preservation of affordable rental housing, as defined, for teachers and school district employees to allow teachers or school district employees to access and maintain housing stability. The act authorizes school districts to implement programs that, among other things, promote public and private partnerships and foster innovative financing opportunities.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would expand affordable housing opportunities for teachers and other local educational agency employees through the Teacher Housing Act of 2016.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would expand affordable housing opportunities for teachers and other local educational agency employees through the Teacher Housing Act of 2016, Part 14 (commencing with Section 53570) of Division 31 of the Health and Safety Code.
