An act to amend Section 1253.5 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to hospitals.

Existing law provides for the licensure of health facilities, including general acute care hospitals, acute psychiatric hospitals, and special hospitals, as defined, by the State Department of Public Health.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to a related provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 1253.5 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read:1253.5.
(a) The State Department of Public Health, upon issuance and renewal of a license for a general acute care hospital hospital, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 1250, an acute psychiatric hospital hospital, as defined in subdivision (b) of Section 1250, or a special hospital
hospital, as defined in subdivision (f) of Section 1250, shall separately identify on the license each supplemental service, including the address of where each outpatient service is provided and the type of services provided at each outpatient location.(b) On or before July 1, 2010, the department shall post and make available on its Web site internet website a listing of all outpatient services of licensed hospitals identified on the hospital’s license as a supplemental service pursuant to subdivision (a). The listing shall include the name and physical address of where the outpatient service is provided. The department’s Web site
internet website shall include a disclaimer that the information contained in the listing is limited to the outpatient service information reported to the department by licensed hospitals.
(c) The department shall work with stakeholders to review, streamline, and revise the initial and renewal license application form prescribed and furnished by the department to any person, firm, association, partnership, or corporation desiring a license, a change in licensed beds or services, or renewing a license for a hospital, acute psychiatric hospital, or special hospital.
