Under existing law, the California Environmental Protection Agency includes the State Water Resources Control Board and each California regional water quality control board, and the Department of Toxic Substances Control.
This bill would authorize the Secretary for Environmental Protection, at the request of an applicant for more than one environmental permit, defined as a specified permit issued by the state board or regional board or by the department, to convene a permitting team, as specified, for the project composed of permit writers and other appropriate personnel from the board or department responsible for review of the project and the issuance of an environmental permit. The bill would prescribe related authority of the secretary and other related matters.
