(a) On or before January 1, 2026, the commission shall submit a report to the Legislature regarding the impacts and effects of inefficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at schools. The commission shall, as part of that report, evaluate the future policies necessary, and future needs of schools, to ensure that schools are energy efficient.(b) (1) The report to be submitted pursuant to subdivision (a) shall be submitted in compliance with Section 9795 of the Government Code.
(2) Pursuant to Section 10231.5 of the Government Code, this section is repealed on January 1, 2030.
(c) As used in this section, “school” means a school serving pupils in kindergarten or any of grades 1 to 12, inclusive.
