To the Members of the California State Assembly: I am returning Assembly Bill 1212 without my signature. The bill would require the Department of Transportation and the Department of Water Resources to develop a list of priority infrastructure projects to provide to the California Public Employees' Retirement System, the California State Teachers Retirement System, and county retirement systems. The reporting requirements that this bill proposes are unnecessary, as existing law already encourages public retirement systems to invest in state infrastructure. Sincerely, Gavin Newsom |
