No. 1475

Introduced by Assembly Member Vince Fong
(Coauthor: Assembly Member Friedman)

February 17, 2023

An act to add Section 13978.6 to the Government Code, relating to transportation.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1475, as amended, Vince Fong. Transportation Agency: performance dashboard.
Existing law establishes the Transportation Agency, which has the power of general supervision over specified state entities. Existing law requires the agency to develop and report on legislative, budgetary, and administrative programs to accomplish comprehensive, long-range, coordinated planning and policy formation in the matters of public interest related to the agency.
This bill would require the agency to create and maintain on its internet website a performance dashboard that, for every project overseen by the Department of Transportation, provides metrics, fiscal information, and operational information, as specified. The bill would require the agency to update the dashboard quarterly, using publicly available information. The bill would authorize the department to partner with other state or local agencies to collect the data required to be included in the performance dashboard.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: YES   Local Program: NO
