CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2011–2012 REGULAR SESSION

Assembly Bill
No. 381

Introduced  by  Assembly Member Alejo

February 14, 2011

An act to amend Section 14007 of the Government Code, relating to the Department of Transportation.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 381, as introduced, Alejo. Department of Transportation.
Existing law creates the Department of Transportation, within the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency, under the administration of the Director of Transportation, who is required to organize the department, as specified, with the approval of the Governor and the Secretary of the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive, grammatical change to that provision.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 14007 of the Government Code is amended to read:

14007.
For the purpose of administration, the director shall organize the department with the approval of the Governor and the secretary in the manner that they deem necessary properly to properly segregate and conduct the work of the department.
The work of the department shall be divided into at least five divisions, known as the Division of Highways, Division of Aeronautics, Division of Mass Transportation, Division of Procurement and Services, and the Legal Division.
With the approval of the Governor and the secretary, the director may create, change, or abolish such other divisions and subdivisions as may be necessary.
Any reference in any law or regulation to the Division of Bay Toll Crossings shall be deemed to refer to the department.
