Existing law authorizes the creation of various state boards, commissions, and committees.
This bill would require the Department of Finance, on or before July 1, 2011, to send a report to 2 specific legislative committees the Chief Clerk of the Assembly and the Secretary of the Senate that identifies every state board, commission, and committee created by statute that the department determines to be inactive, as defined, with respect to the reason for which it was established. The bill would define “inactive” as having failed to meet or to have a quorum at any of its regular meetings on or after January 1, 2008.
