AB 2721, as introduced, Fuller. Telemedicine Task Force.
Existing law, the Telemedicine Development Act of 1996, imposes requirements governing the delivery of health care services through telemedicine, as defined. Existing law imposes various requirements in regard to the provision of, or payment for, telemedicine services by health care service plans and disability insurers.
This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to create a California Telemedicine Task Force that would look into telemedicine reimbursement issues and clarify the act as specified.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to create a California Telemedicine Task Force that would look into telemedicine reimbursement issues and would clarify the California Telemedicine Act of 1996 to require all payers to provide a payment mechanism for telemedicine and specify their reimbursement policies in writing.
