An act to add Section 3043.6 to the Penal Code, relating to parole hearings.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 440, as introduced, Maldonado. Parole hearings.
Existing law generally provides procedures for parole hearings, including who may attend the hearing.
This bill would require Department of Corrections to provide facilities for the viewing of parole hearings, either in person or via a closed circuit television, that can accommodate up to 150 people.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 3043.6 is added to the Penal Code, to read:

3043.6.
 The Department of Corrections shall provide facilities for the viewing of parole hearings, either in person or via a closed circuit television, that can accommodate up to 150 people.
